Barre

This class is taught by:

Trish Fairbanks

Trish Fairbanks counts her greatest accomplishment in life as being married to her amazing husband, and being the mom to four smart, funny, and talented kids. Two other favorite parts of life include moving to Jackson Hole in 2011, and rekindling her love of teaching group exercise and becoming a yoga, condition, and barre instructor at Pursue. She started teaching group exercise when she was in college (step, hi/lo aerobics, slide, condition, water aerobics, spinning, etc)… After 11 years of teaching, she took a hiatus when her 4th child was 6 months old. When she is not at the studio, you can find Trish hiking, baking, entertaining, volunteering at church, and hanging out with friends and family.

Danielle Goldyn

Danielle was raised in the mountains of Colorado and is now deeply impassioned and invested in the Teton community lifestyle. With Masters degrees in Psychology and Business/Health Administration, her education and previous experiences have prepared her greatly for the amazing cultivation of interests that is Pursue Movement Studio. Her daily mission is to cull the best, most versatile, and most effective methods of health and wellness for her guests. When not awesomizing Pursue she is varying her geography with family and friends.

Jen Thorn

Growing up in Colorado health and fitness were a part of everyday life for Jen. At age 2 she started skiing and age 3 began a 20-plus year dance career that continues today. When she wasn’t skiing, hiking, or biking, Jen was studying dance; everything from classical ballet to flamenco, and hip-hop to Jazz. Jen has studied with the Kirov Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Colorado Ballet, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and Orlando City Ballet, to name a few. Jen attended Rollins College in Florida where she pursued a degree in International Relations and minored in dance. Jen and her husband Levi eventually followed a job opportunity that landed them in Jackson, where she paired her love of dance and fitness to become a certified Jazzercise and Barre instructor, but it wasn’t until Jen became pregnant with her first child that she became truly passionate about barre. “I did Barre throughout my entire pregnancy and found that it contributed not only to the physical wellbeing of both myself and my child but helped me develop a physical and mental strength I had never known. I realized how incredible I felt after completing a barre class, and I want to share and empower others with that same mental and physical strength.”
Utilizing props such as the ballet bar and light weights in a carpeted room (don't forget your socks!) expect a sequence including a high paced warm-up, arm work with light weights to tone and define, leg work at the bar for 360 degree sculpting and core exercises to flatten the abs. Sculpt your arms, flatten your abs, lift your seat and firm your legs with these non-impact, dynamic exercises which target and overload each muscle group.
